Only a few kms to go till the finish of the 2007 Port Macquarie Ironman. Everything is hurting and has been since about halfway through the ride, when I started to wish I had put in a lot more training. A very humb;ling experience to race this event and experience the emotion and determination from fellow competitors.
5/3/2007 Jamos Ironman Diary
Well Ive been all talk and no action for longer than we all can remember, but Ive shot my mouth off too many times and now the moment of truth approaches. I will be lining up for the Australian Ironman in Port Macquarie on April 1st (yes I know April fools day)for my first (and probably last) Ironman triathlon. I have discovered just how much work it is to train for an Ironman and while I definatly could have done more i particularly enjoyed hearing the horror stories from those concerned customers about what is going to happen to my body! In all seriousness thanks for the words of encouragment and particularly thanks to my wife Eliza and Graham Templar my masseur without whom I would have collapsed in a smouldering heap long ago.
Here is a summation of my training so far!
Week 1: Felt like crap
Week 2: Felt like crap
Week 3: Felt like crap
Week 4: Felt like crap
Etc etc you get the idea!
Stay tuned for updates on Jamos progress towards the Australian Ironman!
